With sparkling eyes and an infectious smile, five-year old Devita is a likable and friendly child. She lives in a remote tribal village called Tringalwadi in Igatpuri district, Maharashtra. Her parents are both poor farmers, and they are determined to give their daughter the education that they were deprived of because of poverty.
Devita studies in the Pre-Primary Section at the Sitabai Kavji Mengal Anganwadi set up by Aseema Charitable Trust in Jambhwadi, Igatpuri. She has to walk for an hour and a half to reach the school but the distance does not deter her from attending school regularly.
She enjoys taking part in the co-curricular activities offered by the school. Her favorite subject is math, which is made easy through the use of specially designed Montessori materials. Devita shows immense leadership potential and has even led her classmates through a dance performance, for the Annual Day and captivated the audience.
Your generous donations, Laurent (x3) and UBS (9), will enable Aseema Charitable Trust to provide another year of education to little Devita. In addition to tuition and a mid-day meal, your combined donations also cover the cost of two sets of uniforms, a raincoat, sports shoes and study materials.
Thanks to your support, Devita can continue attending school and honing her skills, paving her way for a brighter future!
