School brings out the sparkle in Jayshree’s eyes

Jayshree Jadiyar
Dear Laurent, Jerame, David, Howard, Jeffrey, Molly, Susan, Ray and Lael, Michael, and Lesley,

Eleven year old Jayshree studies in grade six at the Pali-Chimbai Municipal School supported by Aseema.  She lives with her bothers and mother in the slum community of Lalmitti, Bandra. Her mother works as a helper at Aseema to support her family.

Jayshree is very friendly and positive. You can easily spot her, wearing a bright smile and neatly combed hair. She loves working in small groups and works hard to do well in studies.  Her favourite subject is science. She enjoys the Work Experience class as she gets to learn embroidery. This year, she learnt cross stitch and was really excited to have it tacked on cloth bags.

Jayshree is fond of painting, dancing and sports. She represented her class in the aerobic drill display on the Annual Sports Day. Jayshree also participated in a group dance on the Amar Inam Annual Day. This year, she has been on study trips to the Chatrapati Shivaji Museum, to Mani Bhavan and the Nehru Planetarium.

Your generous donations, Laurent (x3), Jerame, David, Howard, Jeffrey, Molly, Susan, Ray and Lael, Michael and Lesley will enable Aseema Charitable Trust to provide another year of tuition, to Jayshree. Your combined donations will also cover two sets of school uniforms, a raincoat, a pair of shoes, school supplies, and course materials.

Thanks to your support, Jayshree can now continue attending school and hope for a bright future!
