Eleven year old Ajay Kanojia thanks you for sending him to school for an entire year.
Ajay is a student of Standard IV at the Kherwadi Municipal School supported by Aseema. An enthusiastic learner, Ajay loves honesty. He is a great fan of Mahatma Gandhi and Anna Hazare. He aspires to become a barrister like Mahatma Gandhi.
An avid reader, Ajay loves reading the newspaper and the dictionary. He eagerly scours through the dictionary learning new words. He is comfortable speaking and writing in English. In Mathematics, Ajay can perform all the mathematical operations – addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, has learnt basic geometry and is currently learning the concept of conversion. He proudly presented an interactive model on the ‘History of Numbers’ at the Annual Exhibition.
Ajay enjoys sports and judo. He was happy to participate in a district-level Judo competition. Ajay has been on study trips to Nehru Science Centre, Patwardhan Park and INS Vikrant – a naval aircraft carrier of the Indian Navy.
Ajay’s parents are proud of his progress and encourage him to do better. Ajay’s father is a tailor and his mother is a housewife. Ajay lives with his parents and four siblings in a slum community in Khar.
