School brings out the sparkle in Reshma’s eyes

Reshma Warghade_picnik
Dear Joe,

Thank you for sending Reshma to school for an entire year.

Three and a half year old Reshma Warghade lives in Awalkheda with her parents and baby brother. Her father works as a contract worker. Her mother, a house wife takes keen interest in her development and ensures that Reshma attends school regularly.

This is Reshma’s first year in school. She is studying in the Pre-Primary Section at Aseema’s Education Centre in Awalkheda.  Reshma has settled down and is now comfortable interacting with the other children. She has grown confident and speaks freely with her teachers. Working with the Montessori materials has been a fascinating experience. Reshma likes working independently and is always eager to learn new things. Reshma enjoys daily life activities such as pouring water, beading, sorting, etc from the Exercise of Practical Life (EPL).

Reshma is being introduced to language through rhymes, stories and picture talk. Her favourite game is the ‘I Spy’ word game. She looks forward to learning new words and vowels. In Mathematics, she has learnt numbers 1 – 5 through games and action songs. She can also identify colours.

On Sports Day, Reshma enjoyed participating in the ‘Chocolate Unwrapping’ race. Celebration of cultural events and national holidays make learning a fun experience for Reshma.
